About Us

Who we are

Nice to meet you!

We are Olav Rune Seljeset and Eline Koopman.

Olav Rune was born in Hornindal in Norway. And Eline was born in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands.

Olav Rune grew up among horses. His great-grandfather, grandfather and father were always fanatical when it came to breeding Fjord horses. Olav Rune has inherited this enthusiasm from his ancestors. He was 18 years old when he first showed a stallion at the exhibition in Nordfjordeid. And to this day, he can still be found around the horses, and he still enjoys preparing stallions for the stallion show.

I was 5 years old when I first came into contact with horses. At the age of 15, I started working with Fjords at an institution for people with epilepsy (Stichting Epilepsie Instellingen Nederland).

I have a very big interest in Fjords and horses in general. I have solid training in giving riding lessons, and specialize in riding training for people with disabilities. I am also a judge in the Dutch Fjord horse studbook in exterior, dressage, jumping and driving.

In my free time, I like to travel to other countries to see stallion shows. On one of these trips, I met Olav Rune. Since then, we have shared joys and sorrows. And especially the passion for the fjord horse!

I really want to let other people discover how beautiful life with horses is.

Do you already see yourself galloping through the beautiful scenery? The close interaction between rider and horse. The wind blowing through your hair, the sound of galloping horse hooves. To then become completely at one with nature, the horse and yourself. Here in Hingarden, all of this can become reality!

OUR HORSES

Our horses

We mainly have Norwegian horse breeds in our stable. Fjording and dølahest.

We are very proud of our horses and would like to introduce them;

Anitra

A fjordhorse mare, and the sweetest children's pony you could wish for.

Lizzy

A fjordhorse mare who thrives when she can go for walks outside.

Eli

A Hanoverian mare, she is the only non-Norwegian breed.

Borka

A dølahest horse mare, who likes to be brushed and brushed the most.

Ralph

A fjordhorse gelding, he is still young and still has a lot to learn. But it looks like he'll be a great kid friend.

Runegard

A fjordhorse gelding, he is still young and still has a lot to learn. He likes to work and always does his best.

Wyomi

A fjord mare, she was actually retired, but the transition to retired life was too abrupt, so she still occasionally joins a riding lesson or a quiet outdoor ride.

Emma Emmeline en Hiawtha

A dølahest mare and a fjordhorse gelding, both still too young to work.

Welcome to our farm

The farm/stable

The farm is from around 1900.

There were no animals on the farm between 1984 and 2001. The previous owner of the farm was an elderly man who could no longer look after the animals.

Olav Rune bought the farm in 2000. The farm was somewhat neglected and needed drastic renovation.

We are still working on the renovation to this day.

From 2001 onwards, sheep, pigs and horses returned to the farm again.

At the moment there are only horses here.
